Dear Carmencita
During the John Singer Sargent exhibit at the Art Institute of Chicago, I was tasked with designing a corresponding pop up bar across street at Chicago Athletic Association, based on one of John Singer Sargent’s paintings of “La Carmencita”.
The pop up bar was designed and built in a little over a month in “The Tank” of the Chicago Athletic Association.
Sourcing & Fabrication
Most of the furniture had to be sourced through vintage shops to make sure we could create something that had character within budget.
One of the speciality pieces was a forced perspective stair way bar cerated by Stolatis Fabrication.
